A Bunny Box or Rabbit Box…

origami bunny rabbit - container for candies

I have made all kinds of origami animals.

I love love love animals that are simple to make and have that special look. You know what I mean. Right?

Today I spent the day completely absorbed in creating this Easter origami rabbit box and making a video on how to fold it.

The biggest challenge was not eating the chocolate eggs as I filmed, especially while a little voice kept whispering: “Don’t postpone joy!

While I created an origami rabbit and even made a video tutorial I confess there were things I didn’t accomplish today that I should have. For example I…

  • Didn’t make my bed (unheard of!)
  • Avoided completing year-end tax preparations.
  • Missed hitting an editing deadline.
  • Failed to prepare a healthy lunch.
  • Forgot to take my daily vitamins.
  • Let a gorgeous spring day pass by without going out for a walk!

It occurs to me that this origami rabbit could be used also as a favor for a child’s birthday party. My inner child tells me that I would’ve loved one for my sixth-year birthday party when I only knew how to fold paper boats.

Isn’t it fun when you are not supposed to be folding paper and you do it anyway? Did you fold this origami rabbit? Any comments to share?

  4. Hi David,

Thanks for your question. The notecard is 4″ high by 2.75 wide booklet-fold. We cut them down if need be to fit in the envelope.
