With this charming origami peacock Evi Binzinger (Germany) shows us an example of the imaginative possibilities of a traditional origami model. This peacock model shown here is based on the classic paper toy called “cootie catcher”, featured here in a previous post.
What Evi has done is to modify one of the corners of the model to make it look like a bird, and then she visualized the other three corners as the bird’s plumage.
Simple and masterful!
This video shows how to fold this peacock model.
Tip: It could be seen as a turkey and used as a Thanksgiving table decoration as well!

Amazing how just adjusting a basic model created this elegantly simple & dramatic bird – lovely!
Evi Binzinger has great talent for seeing new figures in basic folds.
