With today’s logo, Google pays homage to Akira Yoshizawa (14 March 1911 – 14 March 2005). Paper folding master, Yoshizawa, is considered by many as the father of modern origami.
Robert Lang, an origami master himself, helped Google put this together, and wrote up a description for their Doodle Blog. Read it here.
In his own blog, Robert Lang tells the story on how this project came to be. Robert has also included a crease pattern for us to try and fold the letters. Thank you Robert for your blog post.
