From December 1 through December 25, Madonna Yoder will teach a series of 25 origami tessellation patterns progressing from easy to challenging. Model instruction will be in downloadable PDF and video tutorial format with a new tutorial released daily. There is no charge to participate, and you can sign up here.
Whether you’ve been folding tessellations for years or have never folded a twist before, Madonna’s easy-to-follow teaching style will boost confidence and improve your tessellation folding skills.
This is Madonna’s fourth year running the Advent of Tess folding challenge with each year featuring a distinct pattern set. The focus this year will be on isoarea patterns, flagstone motifs, and trapezoid twists – some of the most appealing kinds of tessellations. All of the patterns are folded directly on the grid and start with a hexagonal sheet of paper, which makes them perfect winter window decorations.
