Many origami practitioners love the elegance of simple and easy origami! And it was through making simple pieces that most of us were introduced to the art.
‘Easy Origami’ is a new and beautifully produced magazine that aims to introduce the art of paper folding to people interested in crafts, but who might not yet have tried Origami.
I love the format and content of this new publication from the UK. I’m so pleased to see origami showcased with such high-quality production values and targeted to a new and wider audience.
For the inaugural issue of ‘Easy Origami’ there are many informative sections including:
- An introduction from Nick Robinson, a well known origami author and extraordinary teacher.
- Diagrams or step-folds for more than a dozen different paper folding projects.
- Ideas on how to use origami for gift giving and home decoration.
- Inspirational photographs.
- Resources for online browsing.
- Fifteen detachable patterned papers.
In addition to the above, there is also a section called “Inspiring People” in which origami artists are featured. For this issue these are Hanna Ashwell, Michael Trew, and the author of this blog ;-) Thrilled to be part of it!
Easy Origami is published by Future Publishing, producers of other paper craft magazines such as Papercraft Inspirations and Made with Paper.

I found this at Barnes and Noble. I’m confused, though. Is the magazine a single issue or can it be subscribed to?
For the moment it’s a single issue. They seem to be planning to publish more in the future. Date to be determined.
Wonderful blog! I found it while searching on Yahoo News.
Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News?
I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem
to get there! Thanks
Congratulations ! And your blog is really inspiring to me !
Thank you Laurence. A note like this from people like you is a great motivator to keep going with this work!
Looks fantastic! Went to both Joanne’s and Barnes & Noble but neither had it. Do you have a link to get a subscription?
