Did you know that June 5th is World Environment Day?
I’d like to invite you to join me in the ongoing effort to raise awareness of our precious environment. To participate please fold either an origami tree, an origami creature or maybe an origami flower using a piece of recycled paper.
When you’ve completed your origami model please either…
- Take a picture and post it to our Origami Spirit Facebook page.
- Post your model on Instagram with the hash tags #WED2015 and #origamiforWED.
June 5th is the best day to post, but posts after the 5th are welcome too. Any day is good for you to make origami for a good cause!
Here is the video explaining how to make this tree, designed by origami artist Nguyễn Hùng Cường (Vietnam)
World Environment Day (WED) was established by the United Nations to raise global awareness of our environment. On this day we are encouraged to engage in positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. World Environment Day is celebrated annually in over 100 countries around the world.
The theme of 2015 is “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.”
Reduce, reuse, recycle!
