Born and raised in Kolkata, India, Madhura Gupta is an origami enthusiast and designer. who developed an interest in paper folding after receiving an origami book on her 10th birthday. At the time she folded her favorite models now and then
Years later, in 2019, after Madhura had completed her Master in Philosophy degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, she reengaged with origami and is now folding one model a day and sharing these models on her Instagram profile.
In early 2021, Madhura began creating her own model designs with modular cubes and stars being her favorite subject.

At this point, she has lost count of just how many designs she’s created. Diagrams of some of her models have been published in the British Origami Society (BOS) magazine, the CDO convention book, and OrigamiUSA’s The Fold.
In addition to her love of origami, Madhura is also passionate about cooking. Very recently, she taught herself the basics of crocheting, and also learned how to solve the Rubik’s cube – something she wanted to do for a long time. Madhura loves spending time with her family, and loves her dogs a lot!
