Just a question can you use different type of paper like light construction paper if you don’t have origami paper? Just curious.

    • Leyla Torres May 3, 2020, 4:24 pm

      Hi Denise,

Many different papers are used for origami. It also depends on the model you are going to fold.
If it is simple enough and can be made with only a few folds, construction paper will be fine.
For example, the box you find in the following link can be made with construction paper

If the model is more than a few folds, you can try printer paper.
As a general rule, thin and crisp paper is what gives you the most range.

(the web site is om son, Omer, work).

I folded the origami love message. At the bottom instead of a message i put a rectangular box (Can be even a magazine box). For 6′ model i folded the box from a paper size 4.2’x2.5′ or 10.7 x 7 c”m. i filled them with candies, or you can put a ring as a gift. The model is awsome
